The Alpha Ethernet Adapter does not have its own power supply. It receives its power from a pin in the sign's RS232 jack. Some Alpha signs do not have power in their RS232 jacks, so they can't be used with the Alpha Ethernet Adapter.

This Tech Memo lists the Alpha signs that can be used with the Alpha Ethernet Adapter and the Alpha signs that cannot be used.
