What is an LED?
A Surface-Mount Device (SMD) LED is a type of light-emitting diode (LED) that is mounted directly onto a printed circuit board (PCB) using surface-mount technology (SMT). Unlike traditional LEDs with wire leads, SMD LEDs are compact, have a low profile, and offer superior brightness, efficiency, and color accuracy. They are widely used in electronic displays, backlighting, automotive lighting, and high-density LED arrays due to their ability to produce vibrant colors, consume less power, and support advanced lighting applications, such as RGB color mixing and dynamic lighting effects.
